Your ESC is an intelligent piece of equipment. We have implemented a variety of LED sequences or codes that will allow you to figure out exactly what your ESC is trying to tell you. Please reference the codes below should your ESC show you something you do not recognize.
NEUTRAL
This is the standard behavior of all Tekin ESCs while sitting in Neutral at ambient temperature. LED #4 indicates neutral and every few seconds in between the ESC will flash the internal temperature indicator.
If you see something different on your ESC, please look below for your specific LED Code.
SPEC MODE NEUTRAL
Spec Mode is indicated by LEDs 3 and 5 flashing rapidly. Internal temp is shown every few seconds like normal. Required for any Spec events to pass tech. Can be set on the ESC by programming Timing Profile 1 or through the HotWire device.

LOCKED SPEC NEUTRAL
Locked Spec Mode is indicated by LEDs 3, 4 & 5 flashing rapidly. Internal temp is shown every few seconds like normal. Locked Spec mode is for any events requiring ESCs to provide a mode that cannot be unlocked on the unit itself, like normal Spec mode. This mode can only be activated and deactivated through a HotWire device.

NO RADIO SIGNAL
ESC does not see a signal from the radio/receiver. Make sure your setup is bound, receiver light is on and you have the ESC plugged into the correct channel with the correct polarity. Motor drive is shut off.
LOW NEUTRAL SIGNAL
ESC is reporting a low neutral signal. Center all throttle trims and perform a radio calibration to program the ESC so it recognizes your radio signals. Motor drive is shut off.
HIGH NEUTRAL SIGNAL
ESC is reporting a high neutral signal. Center all throttle trims and perform a radio calibration to program the ESC so it recognizes your radio signals. Motor drive is shut off.
FAN REVERSE POLARITY
If the fan is plugged in backwards, this is the LED code that will apear. The code sequence loops LED6, LED5, LED4, LED3 constantly until the fan is unplugged. This will keep the ESC from arming and going to neutral and could appear if the fan is shorted or jammed.
The same code or a reverse version may appear when the ESC is switched on, but the receiver is not powered up or bound to the radio. Make sure the receiver power light is on!
LOW VOLTAGE CUT-OFF
Battery voltage has dipped below the set cut-off threshold in the ESC. Make sure the cut-off is set for your specific battery and make sure that battery has a full charge.
WRONG MOTOR TYPE
ESC has been set for the wrong motor type or a short or disconnected wire has been detected. Inspect all solder joints, wiggle and pull them all to be sure none have come loose.
Possible short in the ESC or motor, try a known good brushless motor if possible. If all has been tried and the code is still present, contact the Tekin Service Department.
TEMPERATURE INDICATOR
Every few seconds while the ESC is in Neutral it will flash an internal temperature reading. The more LEDs it shows, the hotter the internal temperature. Pay close attention as this feature can help with setup issues and let you know if a gearing or setting change is needed.
LED1: Ambient
LED1-2: 120°F / 49°C
LED1-3: 140°F / 60°C
LED1-4: 160°F / 71°C
LED1-5: 180°F / 82°C
LED1-6: 200°F / 93°C
LED1-7: 220°F+ / 104°C+ Thermal Shutdown Range
THROTTLE LED BEHAVIOR
When applying throttle, the LEDs will ramp from left to right and flash rapidly to indicate full throttle. If your ESC does not flash all LEDs at full throttle, adjust all endpoints on the radio to their maximum and perform a radio calibration. Features such as Turbo will not work properly without a full throttle signal.
BRAKING LED BEHAVIOR
When applying brake, the LEDs will ramp from right to left and flash rapidly to indicate full brake. f your ESC does not flash all LEDs at full brake, adjust all endpoints on the radio to their maximum and perform a radio calibration.
