Team Manager and PRW/Tekin driver Jared Bardin takes the win in Pro Modified at the 2025 Snowbird Nationals! Let’s take a look under the hood and see what Jared has hiding under that rocket of a car.
The 1/10 Pro Modified A was the craziest race of my career, with an early crash at the head of the field sending us scattering and hitting the patented zig-zag line down the backstretch a couple times. Somehow made it through the mess, ducked under a couple cars, got by Kevin for P1 a few laps later, and tried to focus forward as the greatest of all time (D’Agnolo) made it to 2nd and started to charge. PRW 4.8 chassis was just money, Tekin/M.O.B-tuned power shook the earth, BSR tires were stuck like glue. Lots of positive talk/deep breaths kept me out front to the end to somehow claim my second Snowbird National Championship, and my first in Pro Modified, to reach the top of the carpet oval mountain. Pete stayed right there the entire race to keep me honest and finish 2nd, and old man Steve delivered his best ever Pro Mod campaign in 3rd… at age 57, mind you. You’re not done yet brother, you’re next!It doesn’t feel real, hasn’t sank in, and don’t know if it ever will. I wanted this one SO badly for our group. It was such an entire team effort to get to this point and I can’t thank everybody enough for being so incredibly generous to me when I feel I don’t deserve it. Without everybody’s help, this accomplishment simply would not be possible
We have now entered the era of 1/8 off-road ESC’s being utilized in carpet oval racing. The RX8 GEN3 acts like it was made for it. With a little surgery of removing the case, pulling the BEC chip and trimming a few fins, load the V295 software and the RX8 runs low-turn 2-pole motors like an absolute dream. Gone are the days of ESC thermal shutdown – the warmest my ESC came off after pounding on these cars for 4 minutes was 130 degrees. Simply amazing!
