Ash Peeler wins the 2014 Victorian State ST Truck title!

The track was the best many have raced on in Victoria this year, out door clay with great traction and the temps where going to be high all weekend 27 to 34c. Perfect for a State title race!

Tekin factory driver Ash Peeler would take the overall Tq position in the ST Truck class which features 10.5 motors only. Starting from his P1 position Ash would take the first two rounds handily by over 10 seconds each to take the overall title. Ash would use the Tekin RSX  Redline Gen2 10.5 motor to win his State Title.

Victorian Nats ST Truck

Ash had a good showing in 4wd Mod buggy with his Tekin powered TLR 22-4 starting from P3 for the Triple A-mains. Ash recaps: “4wd first final saw me in third for most of the race after a bobble two laps to go, dropped me to 5th where I would finish. In the A-2 I had a good start and made it up to 2nd with 6 laps to go. The leader National Champion Mr Josh Pain was 6 seconds in front of me. My Tekin RSX Redline Gen2 6.5 powered TLR 22-4 and I would push hard making a second a lap on him! With a lap to go I just could not get past and finished half a second behind him. With Josh winning the first two mains it was a battle for second and the race was going well until a super hard hit from the side would snap my front belt and end my race, which would see me finish 4th overall.”

“As Always I would like to thank my sponsors, that help make it all possible. Tekin for the great support keeping all my cars going fast and smooth, TLR Australia for the great vehicles and support, JConcepts for the tires, wheel, body, and wing support, Savox for the servos and Stickit 1 graphics for the skins and Decals, James at PMS paint for the sweet paint jobs. I would also like to thank the club Knox Offroad car club for the awesome track and all the other racers for the good times, which is always as important as the racing.” Ash Peeler

Harrison sweeps the Toys for Tots in Flowood!

The 2014 Toys for Tots took place in Flowood, Mississippi this past weekend. This was not only a race but a great time of the year to give to the less fortunate kids. The schedule for this event was Friday practice, Saturday 3 rounds of rocket round qualifying with single a-mains. Harrison recaps his weekend:

“Qualifying went well in Pro4 SC as I was able to secure the top qualifying spot early. In E-Truggy I had some mechanical issues early and was able to work them out by the third round taking the overall TQ. In E-Buggy was more difficult because the competition was much stiffer in this class. I was sitting fourth after round one and had a steering failure in round 2. In round 3, I was able to lay a fast and consistent run in taking the overall Tq in the final round of qualifying. The traction started to really come in for the mains which made the qualifying positions very important.

2014 TFT

I was able to get out clean and worked through traffic well to win the Pro4 sct and E-Truggy classes.  In the E-Buggy class I did not present the fastest laps but ran the most consistent which would allow me to take the win. Thanks to my sponsors: TLR/Horizon Hobbies, Tekin, JConcepts, Airtronics, Dialed, Avid and Xtreme Kleen.”

Martin ran the award winning Tekin Rx8 Gen2 Esc in all 3 cars, T8 Gen2’s in the 1/8 cars, and Pro4 HD 4300kv respectively in the Pro4 SC class.

Mod 2wd SC4wd SC was stacked with Tekin horsepower.  Ryan Lutz would take the overall Tq positing going into the A-main.  With the track conditions being a bit cooler this round, the high powered trucks would suffer from a bit of inconsistency in certain sections making for a win to come from the smart drivers. Tekin wins at IERC Gun Smoke Classic!

Tekin team drivers competed at the recent Gun Smoke Classic held at IERC Raceway in San Bernardino, CA.

Two heats of 1/8 Scale E Buggy would make for a fun race with a strong field. Tekin teammate Brian Sullivan had a very good run in the first heat taking the TQ. Tekin powered Lucas Sandford would take the overall Tq in Rd1 by 2 seconds and a near perfect run. In Q2, David Jenson pressed hard for the entire race, but Sanford had another great run taking the win. Sanfords 2nd round TQ meant he would not have to race the third qualifier, and would start on the pole for Sunday’s A-Mains, with Eric McNeil second and Brian Sullivan third.

In A1, Sanford got a great start. McNiel stayed on his bumper for a while but made a mistake and let Sullivan by. Midway through the race, Sullivan crashed on the triple and David Jenson started his charge. Jenson had a good race, but Sanford was able to pull away and beat the clock for a victory lap. In A2, Lucas got another great start and the car just got better and better as the AKA Typos heated up. Sanford was able to take the win for A2, and was able to sit out the third A-Main. David Jenson had a great race and took second on the podium, with Sullivan in third.
