On September 27 2014 the SOS Series finally would be held in Loganville Ga. With well over 170 plus total entries. This was a 4 race series that took place in Ga. People from Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee and other surrounding states made the trip to the series and finals. Tekin had drivers Mark Moon, Peyton MacDonald, Shay Brand, Griffin Hanna, and Blane Allen were in attendance for the SOS final to not only race but offer support to anyone running Tekin equipment.

Tekin powered Mark Moon would take the overall win in 2wd Mod Buggy with TQs and wins in the last 3 events. In 1/10 4wd Mod Buggy, Moon would take and 2md overall. “This was the best racing and talent I’ve seen at a series race in years. In 2wd we had a stacked field of drivers in the main.” Moon

“I used my Tekin RSX esc in both vehicles to take the wins in the A mains. I ran gen 2 7.5 in the 2wd buggy and a 6.5 gen 2 in the 1/10 4wd. Let me say this in ending, without the smooth power that these great speed controls provide I couldn’t do these things without Tekin. Thank you guys once again for the great product.” Mark Moon

In 1/8 E Buggy Tekins Shay Brand  was able to get the TQ in all 3 rounds of qualifying in Pro E-Buggy, which gave me the overall TQ with Tekin teammate Griffin Hanah not far behind. Brand had a great start to the 10 minute a-main, and was able to take advantage of his TQ position and never look back. Tekin teammate Griffin Hannah was able to get into the 2nd position, and stay there for the entire race solidifying the Tekin 1 and 2 finish for the finals. Shay Brand was also able to take the overall Series win in Pro E-Buggy!  “I was running the Tekin RX8 Gen2/T8 Gen2 1900kv combo in m Mugen MBX7-Eco buggy for the entire series. It was always consistent and offered smooth and controllable power. Huge thanks to all my family and all my sponsors for making this possible for me!”

2014 Southern Nationals was held in Monroe Louisiana. Tekin team driver were in attendance and making sure their presence was known. With a technical layout and somewhat slippery conditions in practice it was sure to make for close racing all weekend. The race was setup for 3 rounds of qual points and triple A-mains.

1/8 E Buggy had an entire podium filled with Tekin factory drivers. Tyler “Too Fast” Hooks would take the overall win with teammate Brian “Smiley” Henn along with Chad Panek in 2nd and 3rd respectively.  All 3 drivers chose the award winning Tekin Rx8 Gen2 esc and T8 Gen2 line of motors.

In E-Truggy Tyler Hooks would Tq with Martin Harrison starting from P2 going into the triple A’s.  A1 Hooks and Harrison were able to get out front and put in solid laps. Hooks would take the  with teammate Harrison taking 2nd.  In A2 I followed closely in 3rd as Tyler Hooks would break and allow me to move in the 2nd spot behind Brad Ripple. Brad would then fall with mechanical failures with 3 laps to go allowing me to take the win. A3 I was in a tie with Tyler Hooks for the overall and locked in for a solid 2nd. With a horrible start that I could not recover from, I finished 2nd overall.  All 3 drivers chose the award winning Tekin Rx8 Gen2 esc and T8 motor line.

Electric Truggy: 1) Tyler Hooks 2) Martin Harrison 3) Brad Ripple

In Pro4 Tekin power would dominate the event. Tekn factory driver Brian Smiley Henn would Tq the division with Martin Harrison in P2.  A1 Henn and Harrison would get out  to a fairly clean for some great heads up racing together. Harrioson was able to make a pass to take over the lead about mid race and never looked back. Harrison taking A1 with Henn in two in 2nd. A2 there would be 3 lead changes between Harrison and Smiley Henn putting on a driving show. Harrison would hold on to the leading making the only 12 lap run in A2 to take the overall win in Pro4. Harrison said “Making the decision to remove the over powered HD 4300kv motor and install the Pro4 4600kv was important in my victory for the Pro4 class. The Pro4 HD was just too much for the slick conditions and proves that having the right equipment at the right time can make a difference.”  Once more all 3 drivers chose the award winning Tekin Rx8 Gen2 esc and Pro4 or Pro4 HD line of motors.

4wd Open CORR: 1) Martin Harrison 2) Smiley Henn 3) Brad Ripple

At the 2nd annual Race for the cure on October 4th, 2014 at Ierc Raceway. Tekin factory driver Ronda Drake  TQed & Won Expert E-Buggy using her Tekin RX8 Gen 2 speed control along with a 1700kv T8 Gen2 motor.

She then placed 2nd in 4wd Scte with her Tekin RX8 Gen 2 speed control and Pro 4 HD 4300 motor.

Code 3 Rc in WV for their Indoor State Championships. Tekin powered Max Flurer was able to tq and win both 2wd buggy and 2wd sct and ended up 3rd in 4wd buggy.

The East  Coast Race Against Cancer held at McCullough’s RC Raceway is a race not to be missed in the Northeast. Not only  for the atmosphere of such a great event, but also for some of the best regional competition that you can find. This year’s event drew  just over 250 entries among a number of different classes, the biggest  being the 1/8 Electric classes. Tekin factory driver Joe Bornhorst checks in:

“The schedule for the weekend was practice on  Thursday, practice and the first round of qualifying on Friday, 2
rounds of qualifying on Saturday, and main events on Sunday. As the  weekend started, rain was a major worry of most people attending. With  some rain coming down on Wednesday night and Thursday morning, the
track was soaked and practice would be delayed a couple of hours. But  with the track crew working diligently, we would be able to get on the  track in no time. The rest of the night along with Friday morning was spent doing the normal things like trying different tires, working on  setups, and learning the layout. I made a few small changes to both of  my cars, but didn’t go too far from what seem to be becoming my “base”  setups.

On Friday, the first round of qualifying was set to go  at 1 p.m. and would go on for a few hours as we had over 20 heats to  get through. The round went smoothly, and as the sun began to go down,  the overnight TQ’s were set. I was able to get a clean run in both  E-Buggy and E-Truggy and set the pace early on in both. Since this  race was done by Rocket-Round, anything could happen the next day, but  I was feeling very confident with both my Tekin powered Tekno EB48.2 and ET48 vehicles for  the last two rounds. Saturday’s qualifying would go much like the day  before. With both of my cars being on point, along with a couple more  clean runs, I was able to set the TQ pace in both classes!

Sunday morning had come, the mains were set, and  everything was ready to go. Finally with some good weather, the track  was drying out much more than it had all weekend long. After all of my  car prep was done, I spent most of the day watching some races, paying  attention to grip levels, and walking the track every chance that I
got. Since the weather and track were both so different, I  contemplated making a few changes, but ended up deciding to just go up  in tire compound. The Buggy main was up first, so I used the warm up  as a quick test for the harder tire. I decided that I was definitely  better, so I stuck with it. This also helped me for the Truggy main in  which I made the same change. Luckily, both mains went exactly how I  wanted them to, as I was able to pull away from the pack and put in two very solid and clean runs to bring home wins in both classes!

The race couldn’t have gone any smoother for me, and I  was glad to have such a good weekend to debut my new Tekin powered Tekno cars! I  would like to say thank you all of my teammates for the help all  weekend, and also a thank you to all of my sponsors which include:

Round 6 and the final race of the Northwest Championship Tour help in Pasco, WA was held this past weekend. Near perfect weather all weekend for racing on what most people call the best outdoor track in the Northwest. The competition was fierce with 230 entries and points battles coming down to this final race.

1/8 Electric Buggy was once again the largest class of the weekend. Nick Buechler was able to put his Tekin powered D812 on the top of the starting grid with a couple of solid runs on Saturday. A1 Buechler was able to lead almost the whole ten minutes but a costly mistake with a few corners left dropping me back to 2nd. Tekin/HB teammate Jeremy Potter would follow close behind for 3rd. A2 Buechler was able to take the win with Potter finishing only 8 tenths of a second back. A3 would be a battle once again with Kyosho’s Jesse Munn taking the win over Buechler by just over a second followed by Potter in 3rd. The overall series title would go to Buechler with a 1,2. Potter 2nd overall and Munn 3rd.  Both Nick Buechler and Jeremy Potter chose the award winning Tekin Rx8 Gen2 esc and T8 Gen2 motors.

In the 1/10 4wd Mod buggy class Nick Buechler stated “My Tekin powered D413 was hooked up on the large outdoor smooth clay track and I was able to put it 2nd on the grid for Sunday. I would take a 3rd in A1 and A3 for 4th overall.” That finish gave Nick a 2nd overall for the NCT Series final standings. Nick chose the Tekin RSX and Redline Gen2 to power his HB D413.

Tekin is proud to announce that Factory pilot Elliott Boots has wrapped up the BRCA 1/8 E Buggy National Championship title!

Elliott kicked off the series off the 5 round series at Herts with a Tq and win. Continuing on at the remaining venues at Coventry, Wakefield, Bromsgrove, and wrapping up at “The Slough.”  Elliot had three Tq’s and three wins never finishing lower than 2nd at any of the rounds. Wrapping up the overall title by the 4th round!

Elliott started off the series running the award winning Tekin Rx8 Gen2 esc and a Gen2 T8 1900 motor for the first 2 rounds. Starting in round 3 Elliott and pit man and father Chris Boots tried out the T8i 1950kv motor at the suggestion of team manager Randy Pike. After lightening up their Tekin powered Kyosho MP9e buggy to near minimum fighting weight, the T8i would prove to be Elliott’s favorite motor/esc combination yet!  Elliott would wrap up the Championship running that very combo proving that Tekin will always have the right combination to get you into the winners circle!

The 2014 JBRL Electric series Rd8 was hosted by IERC Raceway  located in San Bernardino, Ca.  JBRL events are the good work of Jimmy Babcock. JBRL events are know for deep competition, fast paced racing, and some of the most fun events you can attend in a single day format.

Tekin factory driver Brendon Larrowe would battle it out with AE’s Kevin Motter for the Pro2 Mod SC class in. Brendon would make a last minute bobble chasing Motter down settling for 2nd. Brendon chose the Tekin RSX and Redline Gen2 motor in this class.

Ryan Dunford and Chris Blais would  battle it out with Tekno’s Rudy Rico for the top spot. Finishing a respectable 2nd and 3rd the two drivers would both choose the award winning Tekin Rx8 Gen2 esc and T8i 1950kv motor for their respective rides.

Dunford wasn’t done though and would manage to take a 3rd spot in the 4wd Pro 4 SC class. Again the award winning Tekin Rx8 Gen2 esc and Pro4 HD motor would help him stand on the podium.

The 2014 Bring the Heat race hosted by Flowood Rc Indoor park has become one of the premier races to attend in the Southern part of the United States. Over 350+ entries would settle in on 20+ hours of available practice at the premier indoor facility in the area. Bubba Barnham manages to keep this event on track and on point with a fantastic indoor facility that assures racing is always consistent, fast and fun!

Tekin team drivers as well as Factory reps Ty Campbell and Jeremy Potter would be in attendance to help anyone with their Tekin needs. Seeing how this race gets more electric entries than nitro entries in most cases the Tekin team would be out in force with support, and showing the fast line around the track.

Tyler Hooks would put his name on top of the qualifying board followed by Tekin CS manager Jeremy “PG” Potter, Ty Campbell, and Martin Harrison. The majority of not only the A-main group but the entire field would be powered by Tekin esc’s and motors.  Tyler Hooks would go onto to take the overall win from his Tq position and would be joined by Jeremy Potter in 3rd, and Martin Harrison in 5th. All 3 drivers chose the award winning Tekin Rx8 Gen2 and T8 Gen2 line of motors.

In 4wd SC truck Tekin factory driver Martin Harrison would be the one to beat.   Martin would go onto to win A1 and A2 in convincing fashion to take the overall class win in 2 and out!  Martin chose the award winning Tekin Rx8 Gen2 esc and Pro4 HD 4300kv motor to power his TLR SCTE to the top spot.

In the E Truggy class it would once again be Martin Harrison taking the Tq position. Martin chose the Tekin Rx8 Gen2 and T8 Gen2 2000kv to power his TLR 8ight 3.0e truggy to an A1 and A2 victory to leave no doubt he chose the winning combination for the weekend!
